Two white men, pictured above, are accused of posing as water inspection workers in an attempt to burglarize an elderly resident on the South Side of Easton around 4 p.m. Saturday, the department said.

The men were of average height and one had a larger build, police said.

The suspects also did not have a uniform or appropriate identification and were utilizing an unmarked utility truck, according to police.

“Residents are warned to request identification from any individual from utility company’s requesting to work on their property or contact the utility company to confirm their employment,” police said.

Anyone with information about this incident or questions about a local utility company’s legitimacy is asked to call the Easton Police non-emergency number at 610-759-2200.
